Maltese student wins ceramics competition

Stefan De Battista, a Maltese student at the Institute of Art and Design, and also a member of the Society won a competition which is part of the MedPot Project under the EU Interreg - Malta - Sicily Programme which the Society is working on together with local partners, who are the Secretariat for Small Business and Self Employed and the Mlata-Italian Chamber of Commerce, together with the Italian partners, Comune di Sciacca, CNA and Confartigianato. Sicilian and Maltese student artists were invited to participate in a competition whereby the style to be used for the Sciacca-Maltese ceramic works would be chosen. As a result Stefan won a scholarship of one month in a ceramic workshop in Sciacca.
